What do you do when things get
rough in your life? When situations that arise seem impossible to handle?
With no way out, where do you turn? How do you plan your next move? Recently, God
reminded me of one simple yet amazing concept.
This one simple concept gave me
an inside peek into the very character of God. having peeled off yet another layer of what
can seem to be His ever so complex nature. It was during what seemed to be a difficult
time, in that very place, God met me right where I was.
In my mess of what
seemed to be impossible issues, one right after the other. With no way as to
how I would conquer all of these new issues, I began to strategize in my head. There seemed to be no
way out. After taking my issues to the Lord in prayer, including asking Him for direction
on what I needed to do next, what happened next was not an expected outcome. Instead of Him giving me this calculated plan, He
simply gave me the following “Be still
and know that I am God”. (Psalm 46:10)
Though this somewhat eased my concerns, I did just as He said. I placed my concerns
and issues at His feet leaving with confidence that He would handle them for
me. I walked away believing that God would make a way though I did not see how,
I left it all there.
After getting some rest, I got up to carry out the rest of my
day. With His leading I checked my resources. I believe this was a
couple of hours after my prayer. Then God gave me my answer. Smack dab in the face,
He had just moved a mountain and went before me and made a way to the very
problem I had left with Him. Hours later! This reminded me that He already went
before me and created solutions to the very problems that would arise. It is
easy to get side tracked and bogged down with the cares of the world, everyday
life issues, miniscule tasks and busyness. However, I am so glad that God sees me right
where I am. Even in my mess He stops me, gives me a reminder that He cares about my
details. To others some of the issues that arose may not have been deemed
important, however my God, my father, cares so much that He stopped me right in
my tracks to remind me that He sees me, He cares for me, and He protects me.
The
purpose of me writing this is to give you that same reminder, to tell you that
though you may be going through something, which in reality we all are, I just
want you to know that God sees you.
He sees you right where you are, even in
the mess you created, even when the circumstances seem impossible. I encourage
you to take that problem, that habit, and that issue to Him. Tell Him how you
really feel, no cut cards! Then you listen. Listen for Him to lead and guide your
life. That is why I love Isaiah 43: 1-2 it reads “… Fear not, for I have called you by Your name; you are mine. When you pass
through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not
over flow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned. Nor
shall the flames scorch you.” Notice that God says When you walk through,
this tells me that despite the fact that we will go through things, He is
there! Even in the trenches. Wow! That is amazing to know that The God that I
serve, my father, is with me even in my mess. I pray that this serves as your
reminder as well. Some time ago God gave
me this scripture right when I needed it the most.
I can go on with countless examples
of how God sees you right where you are but for the sake of being brief I won’t.
Some additional reading scriptures I would recommend is Luke 5:1-11 which talks about an encounter where Jesus stepped into peter’s impossible
situation and performed a miracle that would change the trajectory of peter’s
life. Also, I would recommend reading John
1:35-50 which goes into how Jesus can not only deal with your concerns when you come
to Him, But also provides a clear picture into His ability to see you. Not just for where you are, but for
ultimately where you are going. Where you have the potential to be. The real you.
I love how
God can give you a scripture and the the Holy spirit will open it up to you in
a way that is fitting for where you are. Then sometime later can take the same
scripture and open it up to you in a deeper way giving you a fresh new
perspective on the very same few verses.
I can assure that the same way
He saw me, it is the same way He sees you. And remember God cares About your
details. Why else would he create you in mind with a plan, with a purpose? well before you
were even in your mother’s womb. Be encouraged.
